1. Definitions
- “We”, “Us”, “Our” refers to Maldon Window Cleaning Ltd.
- “You”, “Customer” refers to the person or organisation receiving our services.
- “Services” refers to window cleaning and any related exterior cleaning services we provide.
- “Property” refers to the address where services are carried out.
2. Scope of Services
We provide professional window cleaning services using traditional methods or water-fed pole systems, depending on access, safety, and suitability.
Unless specifically agreed in writing, our services do not include:
- Removal of paint, cement, plaster, silicone, adhesive, or builders’ debris
- Restoration of damaged, oxidised, or faded frames, seals, or glass
- Internal cleaning of inaccessible or unsafe areas
3. Quotes, Prices & Variations
- All prices are based on the information provided at the time of quotation.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
- Prices may be reviewed if property conditions change, including but not limited to extensions, access restrictions, additional glazing, roof types, or obstructions.
- Any additional work requested outside the agreed scope may be charged separately.
4. Service Frequency & Scheduling
- Regular services are carried out on an agreed cycle (e.g. 4, 6, 8, or 12-weekly).
- Scheduled dates are approximate and may vary due to weather, access, or operational reasons.
- You do not need to be present during the visit, provided safe access is available.
5. Access & Customer Responsibilities
You agree to:
- Provide clear, safe access to the property
- Secure pets during the visit
- Remove fragile or valuable items near windows
- Leave gates unlocked where access is required
If access is not possible and no prior notice is given, we reserve the right to charge a missed visit fee or the full visit charge.
6. Weather Policy
Light rain does not affect cleaning results.
Services may be postponed due to unsafe conditions such as high winds, frost, ice, or storms.
7. Payments & Deposits
- Payment is due on the day of service, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- For first-time customers, larger properties, or commercial-style work, we reserve the right to request a deposit of up to 50% prior to work being carried out.
- Work will not be scheduled or confirmed until any required deposit has been received.
- The remaining balance is due on completion of the service.
- Accepted payment methods include bank transfer and Direct Debit (GoCardless).
- Late or missed payments may result in suspension or termination of services.
- Commercial customers may be charged statutory interest and recovery costs in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
8. Cancellations & Termination
- A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations.
- Deposits are non-refundable where insufficient notice is given.
- Repeated cancellations or non-payment may result in termination of service.
- We reserve the right to stop or refuse services immediately for safety concerns, non-payment, or unreasonable behaviour.
9. Quality & Complaints
If you are not satisfied with the service, you must notify us within 48 hours of completion.
We will re-attend where appropriate.
No refunds or re-cleans are offered after this period.
10. Liability, Property Condition & Insurance
We hold valid Public Liability and Employer’s Liability Insurance.
We are not liable for damage, leaks, or defects resulting from pre-existing faults, wear and tear, or structural weaknesses, including but not limited to:
- Conservatory roofs (polycarbonate or glass), including seals, joints, fixings, or panels that are defective, aged, brittle, loose, or previously damaged
- Flat roofs, lean-to roofs, extensions, or outbuildings where water ingress results from poor design, deterioration, or existing defects
- Gates, fences, sheds, or outbuildings that are unstable, rotted, warped, poorly fixed, or not properly maintained
- Glass or glazing units that are cracked, misted, weakened, poorly installed, or under stress prior to cleaning
Water-fed pole cleaning may highlight or expose existing defects but does not cause them.
Our total liability is limited to the value of the service provided for that visit.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
11. Unsafe Conditions
We reserve the right to refuse or stop work if, in our opinion, conditions are unsafe or likely to cause damage, including fragile roofs, defective glazing, or unstable structures.
12. Consumer Rights
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
13. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failure to perform services due to events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, illness, accidents, or equipment failure.
14. Marketing & Testimonials
By using our services, you agree that we may use:
- Written reviews
- Before-and-after photographs (excluding identifiable personal details)
for marketing purposes unless you notify us in writing otherwise.
15. Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

16. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
